Many recordings from the late ’70s and early ’80s feature their iconic kits, which now inspire the best virtual drum kit experiences in modern production. During this golden era, the Jasper Wood company crafted the shells using a 6-ply combination of Maple and Gum wood with a 30-degree bearing edge. Without reinforcement hoops, these shells delivered a deeper, punchier tone while still tuning effortlessly for be-bop and jazz. Heavy cast lugs and die-cast hoops further defined the unmistakable Gretsch sound.
Now, thanks to advanced VST plugin drums, you can bring the brilliance of this craftsmanship to your tracks, capturing the nuance and punch of these legendary kits with every strike.

Our samples are carefully prepared to give you the highest quality sound with the most flexibility to make your own mix decisions. LA Session Drummer has 2 mix modes. Stereo (default) or Pro-Mode which allows for routing out any or all mic sources to their own dedicated stereo channel.

Midi presets for all Roland, Alesis, Pearl, EFNOTE, and Yamaha kits are built into the midi preset banks. Additionally you may save and load your own custom midi mappings to match your hardware and workflow.
